Prior to founding Assisi Veterinary Hospital in 2007, Dr. Guzman worked as a general practitioner in Long Beach, New York. Also in 2007, Dr. Guzman received accreditation from the United States Department of Agriculture to perform services in connection with interstate and international animal travel.
This high-tech, full service animal hospital includes the following services:
Laser surgery and ultrasound. We have a state of the art, fully equipped surgical suite where we can perform routine surgical procedures such as spaying and neutering as well as the most complex life saving procedures.
Microchipping - Here at Assisi, we can implant a Bayer resQ microchip, which is an internationally accepted technology. More reliable than collars or tags, this chip goes under your pets skin and will serve as a permanent form of identification should your pet ever get lost.
Radioactive Iodine (I-131) treatment in cats is now available here at Assisi Veterinary Hospital. This treatment is used in felines with hyperthyroidism.
Nutrition and Specialized Diets - Nutrition is one of the most important considerations for the well being of your pet. Feeding a high quality diet means that your pet will get the nutritional requirements it needs to maintain a healthy and happy life.
House calls are also available to clients who are unable to bring their pet to our office for various reasons. A pet may be too large to get into the car, may be feeling too sick, or may just hate going to the vet's office. Whatever the reason, let us know and we will come to you!
Dentistry, which is a crucial part of maintaining a long and healthy life for your pet, will keep your pet in top condition. It is a fact that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats are already suffering from periodontal disease by the age of three. Oral hygiene is crucial to a pet’s health and well being.
Pet Boarding and Daycare is available whenever you need it. Our dog boarding and pet grooming facility offers spacious runs with radiant heated flooring. Our cat boarding guests will enjoy the beautiful kitty condos during their stay.
